Fiona & Robert
An open-air pizzeria with a groovy orange-coloured wood-fired oven at its heart, The Gorilla Kitchen is based in the beautiful Sussex Downs.
Inventive and open-minded, and always looking to find great flavour combinations. Authentic ingredients are sourced from artisan producers in Calabria in Italy and from the Cote d’Azur in France, from makers and growers in the south of England and even from our own garden at Gorilla HQ.
The Gorilla Kitchen pops up at food festivals, sports events and music festivals and is available to cater for your family or corporate gatherings and wild celebrations.
Foodie soul-mates, Robert and Fiona set up The Gorilla Kitchen in the summer of 2014. The smell of oregano and garlic heavy in the summer air, “let’s take the kitchen outside” they said. And so the delights of the al-fresco kitchen were shared with a growing band of foodie followers. The Gorilla Kitchen is inspired by the food of Robert’s childhood. With a mother from Calabria in the far south of Italy and a father from Perugia in the beautiful hills of Umbria in central Italy, Robert was actually born and raised in France on the Cote d’Azur – a classically trained chef in the French tradition but with his heart in the simple natural flavours of the Mediterranean.
